Spring Parade
We thought about going off for the weekend, but the weather has been so perfect we decided instead to have a holiday with the critters and the projects. The weather is perfect (and L#we's had a 1/2 price sale on their plants) for yardening and projecting and we can settle in to the Indy 500 race this afternoon. It not a bad way to spend a holiday weekend and the only crowds and traffic we have to fight would be the critter parade through the backyard. We'll probably run up to Austin and take Gryphon to one of the many great dog parks there.
The following photos were all taken yesterday in the early morning light and all within about 30 minutes.

Remember Tiny Tim? Well we finally figured out that it's a Tiny Tina! She seems to be doing fairly well considering her damaged front leg. It's still hard to watch her walk, but she's hanging with the herd and seems to be OK with a good coat.

Redford's got eyelashes (and budding tusk)! Perhaps his blond ambition? ;)

The wonders of the mud spa!

...at least the pig left us somethin'...

"Hi!"

"All right Mr. De Mille, I'm ready for my close-up,"

HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE

Simon is such a cutie.. I'd love to see them here.
Wonderful wild life you've got right outside your door :D
Have a great day! :))
Cool pictures, Seamus!
I'm glad Tiny Tina is doing well.
Seamus, do your foxes get along with your deer? We had deer the other night and the foxes haven't been seen since.
I'm not sure, but I think the Critter Parade may be my favorite part of your posts...except for Gryphon...I don't know if I can pick favorites...critters being what they are...have a wonderful weekend, I'm sure you'll be saluting our heroes this Memorial Day!

You must never get tired of looking out the window.
I love these photographs, it must be wonderful living somewhere that you get to see these sights each day!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day, Seamus. I share your love of the animals and our environment!
What wonderful wildlife parade you got! Tina! *smile* The wild hogs are known to attack humans for no other reason than the fun of it, are you aware of that? I got frightened out of my wits one fine morning walking along the Danube when suddenly a several families of these hogs charged down the hill (only minutes earlier a large stag had in my direction, turning off into the woods only yards from my little shaking self).
I can't think of a better way to spend your long weekend than to enjoy the company of these wonderful critters. Beautiful photography!
You know, we have lots of deer here, but they look different than yours. Ours are much darker in colour.
And the pig, oh, the pig, he's so cute.
what a surprise with tiny tina eh? glad she's doing well. i just love that shot of the one with the water dripping off it's chin. the velvetty antlers the big eyes....
Glad Gryphon has settled in and is a wonderful new addition to your family. Love the pig!

Good to see the Tiny "Tina" is still around andd doing well! All the critters look great :)
Your holiday weekend sounds (and looks) just about perfect. What a crowd of critters you have coming out to entertain you - how fun! :) Glad you had your camera at the ready mark!
Finally checked in on my blog and saw that you left a comment long long long ago...I'm so happy for you and Gryphon! And the fact that he's Taylor's nephew brought tears to my eyes. Very glad for you and your family.
Also, your wildlife parade is way better than mine. Mine would be a rat, a pigeon, a squirrel, some feral cats, and maybe a raccoon. Ah, city life.
Oh Seamus, you've captured the essene of nature so well here! I love it. Thanks for making me smile inside today.
